Download Policy Topic Data

There are four steps to define and download a policy topic data file:

  1. Select Policy Topic(s) and Variables you want to include;
  2. Select specific jurisdictions, or leave blank to include all;
  3. Specify the effective date or date range;
  4. Choose how you would like to create and download your data file.

Define and Download Policy Topic Data

Step 1 Select Policy Topic(s) and Variables

Select one or more policy topics. All variables will be included by default, or you may select individual variables to include.

Note: Data for the APIS Covid-19 policies cannot currently be downloaded from this page.

Step 2: Select Jurisdictions (Optional)

All jurisdictions will be included by default, or you may select individual jurisdictions to include.

Step 3: Select Effective Date(s)

Include policies that were in effect on a specific date or within a specified date range. APIS policy coverage varies by topic. See this table for a list of coverage dates by topic.

Step 4: Create and Download File

There are two ways to download your policy topic data: as separate CSV files for each topic; or multiple topics merged into one CSV file. If you select multiple topics to be downloaded to a single file, the topics will be arrayed vertically, with rows for the jurisdictions and columns for the variables. That is, the second and subsequent topics will be offset below and to the right of the first topic, each with their own set of rows for jurisdictions and columns for (selected) variables. See the sample output graphic for an example.

Select Download Type

Your file will be created and a summary of your selections will appear in a separate README file.
