Additions and Enhancements

Update to 1/1/2021

The APIS information appearing on this website has been updated to include legislative and regulatory changes that took effect on or before 1/1/2021. Vehicular Insurance Exclusion has been discontinued and is not included in the update.

Policy Resources

The following new or revised policy resources were added to APIS:

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, many States adopted new policies affecting the availability of alcohol. APIS has developed two new resources: The Digest of State Alcohol-Related Laws During the COVID-19 Emergency provides capsule narratives of state-level restrictions on sales of alcoholic beverages. The Dataset of State Alcohol-Related Laws During the COVID-19 Emergency presents policy information in a spreadsheet format to facilitate quantitative analyses. The Digest and Dataset are updated periodically, providing continuous coverage of these policies since the onset of the pandemic. See APIS COVID-19 coverage.
  • The Recently Adopted Cannabis Laws page was updated to provide descriptions of recreational cannabis legalization laws adopted since 1/1/2021, which include Connecticut, New Mexico, New York, South Dakota, and Virginia.
  • Additional journal references were added to the Selected References sections of various APIS policy topics.
