Update to 1/1/2023

The APIS information appearing on this website has been updated to include legislative and regulatory changes that took effect on or before 1/1/2023. Vehicular Insurance Exclusion has been discontinued and is not included in the update. For a summary of policy changes to Alcohol Policy Topics, see Policy Changes at a Glance.

 

Policy Resources

The following new or revised policy resources were added to APIS:

  • The Recently Adopted Cannabis Laws page was updated to provide descriptions of recreational cannabis legalization laws adopted since 1/1/2023, which include Delaware, Minnesota, and Ohio.
  • Additional journal references were added to the Selected References sections of various APIS policy topics.

Wholesale Distribution Systems for Beer Iowa Beer between >0.50%V - 12.00%W added to License system between 3/10/2010 and 5/9/2019; Beer between >0.50%V - 15.00%V added to License system between 5/10/2019 and 12/31/2022.
Wholesale Distribution Systems for Spirits Iowa Changed Overall coding from State-run to Mixed/Overlapping for the period 5/10/2019 to 12/22/2022. For the period 5/10/2019 through 12/31/2022, changed Spirits Subtype Alcohol Content Range >6.25%V - 15.00%V from State-run to Both.
Wholesale Pricing Utah For Beer, removed designation as Control State and added coding of Yes in Retailer Credit column and 15 in Maximum Credit Period column, for period beginning 11/1/2019.
Recreational Use of Cannabis: Volume 1 Michigan Added microbusiness cultivation license type, for period beginning 6/22/2020.
Recreational Use of Cannabis: Volume 1 Montana Local Authority coding changed from "Local Control" to "Both" local option and local control, for the period beginning 7/1/2021.
Recreational Use of Cannabis: Volume 1 Nevada Coding for Impaired Driving Prohibitions changed from “Adult: Prohibited - 2 ng/mL limit (per se)” to “Adult: Prohibited - THC limit and evidentiary standard not specified,” for the period beginning 7/1/2021.
