Additions and Enhancements

Update to 1/1/2024

The APIS information appearing on this website has been updated to include legislative and regulatory changes that took effect on or before 1/1/2024. Site Redesign

The website has been extensively redesigned to enhance user experience, improve usability, and increase mechanisms to review and utilize APIS data. Major improvements include the following:

  • New data visualizations for each policy topic, including opportunities for interactivity, longitudinal timelapse views of policies, and comparisons between alcohol consumption and alcohol policies;
  • A restructuring of the cannabis data from two volumes to seven distinct tables, with cannabis policies grouped by category;
  • The creation of state profiles, allowing users to look at all alcohol or cannabis policies by state;
  • The establishment of a state comparison tool, allowing users to select one or more states and one or more policies to create unique tables;
  • New presentation of resources, including an option to search and filter by resource type;
  • New presentation of relevant citations, including an option to search and filter by author, citation topic, and more;
  • Expanded resources that help measure the outcomes of implemented policy change;
  • Improved site navigability; and
  • New homepage and overall website design.
